Under limited supervision, the Production Engineer works on Nebraska Public Media’s remote and studio broadcasts. The Production Engineer works closely with others to help achieve the desired “look” of the studio broadcast cameras in terms of color/tone, iris/brightness, and camera matching. This role also color corrects other studio cameras (POVs, etc), on-camera video monitors and more. The Production Engineer will assist in the full operation of a mobile broadcasting unit including maintenance, location cabling and equipment set up.
Additionally, they will assist the Remote Technical Supervisor with the responsibility of setting up, coordinating, and maintaining a wide variety of electrical, electronic, and satellite equipment for mobile television broadcasts.

Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in technical, multimedia, broadcast production, or information technology plus two years of media production experience.
- Additional years of relevant experience or completed relevant education may substitute for required education/experience on a year-for-year basis.
- Experience with basic broadcast cabling, including wiring to and from I/O panels.
- Must have a working knowledge of production equipment.
- Knowledge of broadcast production equipment, including camera CCUs and XCUs.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot broadcast production systems and working knowledge of video routers and associated control panels.
- Technical broadcast production experience.
- Knowledge of EVS servers, technical maintenance, familiarity with IT processes.
