JOB GOAL:Assist the teacher in providing education and instruction to students
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:School year only
EVALUATION:Evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the district's Personnel Evaluation Policy

Essential Functions- Consistent and punctual "on site" attendance at the worksite is an essential job function
- Works with small groups of students, as directed by the teacher, to reinforce directions or tutor in needed areas
- Listens to students read, and reads to students
- Helps students with make-up work
- Assist in individual or group activities, games, flash cards, computers, etc.
- Assist students in interpreting and following directions of teacher
- Drills - to reinforce any skill the teacher has taught
- Alerts teacher to needs of students
- Assist teacher in checking progress of individualized study projects
- Supervises lunchroom, playground, halls, classrooms and other assigned activities
- Reserves instructional media
- Assist with the physical and health needs of the children
- Does miscellaneous typing and filing
- Inventories books, materials and equipment
- Assists when emergencies arise
- Performs other delegated responsibilities assigned by teacher or administrator
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Skills in organization, leadership and human relations
- Visual and auditory skills for dealing with students
