POSITION SUMMARY
The Credit Evaluation Analyst will assist lenders in evaluating credit extension requests for both new and existing clients. This role involves conducting in‑depth financial analyses of lending opportunities, and preparing credit approval and modification requests for the Loan Committee. The Analyst will also perform annual credit reviews as necessary, ensure adherence to the Bank's credit policies and procedures, facilitate the timely collection and analysis of financial statements from clients, and keep financial records updated for accurate reporting.
PRIMARYRESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct detailed analysis of financial statements and agency reports on prospective and current borrowing accounts, creating comprehensive reports that assess both short and long‑term financial viability.
- Provide recommendations to Loan Officers regarding loan approvals or denials, preparing thorough documentation to support these recommendations.
- Identify and analyze trends in financial data, interpreting key financial ratios such as cash flow to debt service and debt‑to‑equity.
- Document all financial analyses with detailed spreadsheets and written credit offering memorandums.
- Assess loan grades following a comprehensive credit analysis and review of documentation.
- Coordinate tasks within the department to ensure the efficient flow of information.
- Prepare assigned reports as needed.
- Conduct annual reviews of loan relationships to ensure ongoing compliance and performance.
- Engage in additional projects as directed.
A college degree in a business‑related field and a minimum of two years of relevant experience in analysis, operations, lending, or support in the banking sector are required. Candidates should possess strong analytical skills to navigate complex commercial financial statements, knowledge of loan documentation and structure, and good written and verbal communication abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel, is essential.
Attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the capability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment while meeting deadlines with minimal supervision are crucial. Candidates must demonstrate professionalism in line with the bank's employee handbook.
Compliance with all applicable regulations, laws, and bank policies related to daily responsibilities is mandatory. This includes maintaining knowledge of compliance regulations pertinent to assigned duties and completing any required training timely. Adherence to the Bank’s Code of Professional Ethics and Conduct is expected, fostering a culture of compliance among colleagues, customers, and vendors.
