Radiologic Technologist / CT Technologist Position Summary

The Radiologic Technologist/CT Technologist performs diagnostic imaging procedures and provides safe, high-quality patient care to individuals of all ages, from newborns to geriatric patients. This role works closely with physicians, radiologists, and other healthcare team members to obtain accurate diagnostic images while ensuring patient comfort, safety, and privacy.

Schedule

Department utilizes self scheduling. Candidates must be flexible and willing to work various shifts base on patient census and department workload.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform radiographic and CT imaging procedures according to department and physician protocols.
  • Position patients and equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Administer contrast agents as directed and monitor patients during procedures.
  • Verify patient identity, maintain accurate records, and ensure proper image documentation.
  • Review images for quality and make adjustments as needed.
  • Assist physicians and other staff during imaging procedures.
  • Utilize PACS and RIS systems effectively.
  • Monitor patient condition and respond appropriately to care needs.
  • Follow radiation safety standards and maintain compliance with ALARA guidelines.
  • Maintain MRI safety standards and department cleanliness.
  • Assist with patient transportation, clerical duties, and departmental operations.
  • Support ongoing training, policy compliance, and quality improvement initiatives.
Patient Care Focus
  • Provide compassionate care to patients across all age groups.
  • Adapt care and communication to meet developmental, cultural, and individual patient needs.
  • Involve family members and caregivers in care decisions when appropriate.
  • Ensure patient comfort, dignity, and safety throughout all procedures.
Qualifications Education
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
Licensure & Certifications
  • Current Nebraska Medical Radiographer License required.
  • ARRT certification required.
  • CT certification through ARRT required within one year of hire.
  • BLS certification required within one month of hire.
Experience
  • Previous clinical experience preferred.

    Previous healthcare experience preferred.
Skills & Knowledge
  • Strong patient care and communication skills.
  • Ability to provide care to patients of all ages.
  • Knowledge of imaging procedures, safety standards, and radiologic principles.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
