We are looking for an individual who is a veteran of military service to serve as a Reemployment Coordinator
- Local Veterans' Employment Representative (LVER) to help create opportunities for fellow Nebraskans by promoting the hiring of veterans to Nebraska employers. We are looking for an individual who has a strong desire to help others, is detail-oriented, and enjoys daily challenges and variety.

Examples of Work:
- Visit employers and businesses to build relationships while explaining the advantages of hiring veterans. Encourage employers to recruit veterans.
- Organize hiring events, job fairs, or employer seminars. Conduct job-search workshops. Create job search groups for veterans. Connect employers with qualified veterans.
- Help veterans access employment services, training programs, and job placement assistance through the state's workforce system.
In addition, you will be assigned tasks as a Business Services Representative.
- Vet new employers registered with the Department of Labor.
- Conduct Rapid Response events in service area.
- Conduct Foreign Labor Certification (FLC) housing inspections.
- Utilize various means of technology to provide needed data.
- Conduct presentations and perform out-reach activities through membership on various advisory boards, committees, and community organizations.
- Perform data entry and retrieval activities for various programs as necessary.

Requirements /
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Post high school coursework or training in social/behavioral sciences, counseling, business, public administration, education, marketing, or a related field; or experience in client development and case management including interviewing, research, and direct customer service.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in human resources, behavioral science, business administration, communication, education or marketing. Experience working with individuals facing employment barriers. Bilingual Spanish/English language skills preferred but not required.
Other: MUST BE A VETERAN OF MILITARY SERVICE (per 38 U.S.C. 4103A and 4104 federal requirements). Preference will be given in this order:
1) Qualified service-connected disabled Veteran;
2) Qualified eligible veteran. To verify veteran status, the DD214 and other necessary paperwork needs to be submitted with the application. Must have a valid driver's license or the ability to provide independent authorized transportation.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities
Knowledge of:
State and federal employment security laws;
Veterans programs; workforce development programs - WIOA, VETS, DOL grants; equal opportunity laws; vocational counseling or career guidance; case management interviewing procedures and techniques; developing and designing training programs; typical office computer systems;
Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Access, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), SharePoint, Google Docs; NEworks or other case management systems;
Management Information Systems.
Skill in: community outreach, recruiting, community/employer engagement practices; public speaking or communicating with an audience; presenting information clearly using various media, strong case management skills.
Ability to: plan and organize work; communicate to disseminate information to a diverse group of people; promote/market/present services to groups of individuals; follow instructions; interact with clients, employers and the public; administer tests and measurements; conduct evaluations; create presentations; manage multiple programs; learn and apply agency rules, policies and procedures; maintain appropriate, professional working relationships with the public, coworkers and management;
maintain regular and reliable attendance.
