Terms of EmploymentPart time (nine months a year; 20 hours/week)
Job GoalThe interpreter/translator is responsible for answering parent /staff phone calls (and written or “in person”) requests for translating. The interpreter/ translator will also be responsible for assisting the District Interpreter/ Liaison with building or district level materials needing translation from English to Spanish for distribution to parents. This individual will also be available for interpreting at meetings, parent conferences, and school activities.
EssentialDuties
- Consistent and punctual attendance
- Answer parent/staff phone call requests
- Translate building and district parent information
- Translate/create Spanish copies of calendars and newsletters
- Conflict resolution skills
- Copy and distribute translated material to schools
- Interpret during school meetings, student conferences, Parent-Teacher Conferences, and parent activities
- Travel to various buildings (as needed) to assist with translation
- Develop parent support materials in Spanish
- Maintain confidentiality
- Other duties as assigned by District Interpreter/Translator

$23.78 per Hour
