Senior Safety Manager – Industrial Operations
Employment Type:
Full-Time
Base Pay Range: $95,000.00/yr - $/yr
The OpportunityThis is a high-impact safety leadership role for an industrial facility that needs more than oversight. We’re looking for a Safety Manager who can personally build, implement, and maintain safety programs—not just monitor what already exists.
This role is best suited for a mid- to senior-level safety professional who is comfortable operating independently, partnering closely with operations, and setting the standard for how safety shows up on the floor every day.
What You’ll Be Responsible For- Building, implementing, and sustaining facility-wide safety programs
- Leading full facility safety audits and ensuring corrective actions are completed and embedded
- Conducting incident investigations and supporting OSHA citation abatement when necessary
- Delivering hands‑on safety training for both leadership and front‑line team members
- Serving as a key point of contact during OSHA inspections or compliance activity
- Communicating effectively with plant leadership and hourly employees to drive adoption and accountability
- 3–5+ years of safety management experience in a general industry environment
- (Manufacturing, recycling, or heavy industrial experience strongly preferred)
- Demonstrated experience writing and implementing safety programs, including:
- Permit Required Confined Spaces (PRCS)
- Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
- Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) programs
- Respiratory Protection
- Hands‑on experience conducting:
- Full facility safety audits
- Incident investigations
- Safety training (LOTO, PRCS, PIT, fall protection, etc.)
- Ability to work directly with OSHA compliance officers when required
- Experience leading or supporting OSHA citation abatement
- Strong communication skills across leadership teams and floor-level employees
- Safety certifications such as CHST, OHST, STS, or advanced credentials (ASP, CSP, SMP)
- 5–7+ years of experience in manufacturing or recycling environments
- Written safety manuals and policies
- SOPs
- Equipment‑specific LOTO procedures
- Experience managing workers’ compensation and return‑to‑work programs
- Exposure to ISO standards, continuous improvement, or lean manufacturing
- Strong leadership presence with the confidence to own the safety program end‑to‑end
This is not a maintenance role—it’s a build‑and‑lead opportunity. You’ll be trusted to create structure, improve systems, and influence how safety operates across the facility. If you take pride in building programs that actually work—and holding the line when it matters—this role will give you the runway to do it right.
