Overview
Licensed Practical Nurse (PRN) position at Norfolk Regional Center (Evergreen), Norfolk, NE.
The Nebraska Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS) supports a mission to help people live better lives and employs staff who provide quality care and support to adult patients with mental illness.
The center serves adult males committed by Mental Health Board for inpatient psychiatric treatment, including individuals who have sexually offended, and offers a Medical Support Program for those with significant physical conditions, psychiatric, cognitive, and aging issues.
Responsibilities- Medication administration.
- Documentation.
- Initiate therapeutic interactions with patients.
- Perform treatments.
- Transcribe doctor's orders.
- Evaluate physical health and emotional status of patients.
- Perform assigned patient education.
- Complete order entry.
- Supply inventory and ordering; use of electronic medical record.
- Serve as a contributing member of the interdisciplinary treatment team delivering holistic and individualized care to patients.
Starting rate: $40.00 per hour, plus $3.00 per hour facility differential and shift differential pay.
Work SchedulePRN/On‑call position available; must work a minimum of 16 hours per month.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications: A current license to practice as a licensed practical nurse in Nebraska or authority under the Nurse Licensure Compact to practice as a licensed practical nurse in Nebraska.
Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge or experience working with patients with mental illness or psychiatric disorders; valid driver's license or ability to provide independent authorized transportation.
