Location:
Cherry County Hospital – Valentine, NE 69201
Job Status – Full Time (36 hours)
Schedule: Nights 6:15pm – 6:45am
Compensation: Competitive wage
Sign‑on Bonus: $15,000 depending on experience
Shift Differential- Sunday – Thursday Nights – $3.50 per hour
- Friday – Saturday Nights – $6.00 per hour
- Weekend Days – $2.50 per hour
- Charge Differential – $3.00 per hour

- Greets and registers patient upon arrival
- Initiates admission assessment immediately upon arrival to the unit, including pain assessment
- Completes admission assessment of the patient according to procedure
- Initiates a written care plan upon admission
- Monitors patient condition throughout shift, including the reassessment of pain
- Interprets changes in patient condition, fetal monitoring systems and abnormal lab values as evidenced by shift communication and documentation
- Incorporates nursing interventions specific to the patient’s needs, measurable outcomes, and discharge planning into the plan of care
- Reviews and updates the nursing plan of care during the shift
- Works with patient and/or family in the development of the plan of care
- Implements plan of care within established timeframe
- Accurately orders appropriate tests via electronic health record (EHR)
- Requests consultation based on assessment data
- Administers medications, including IV fluids, according to policy and procedure
- Accounts for all controlled substances according to policy and procedure
- Reviews physician’s orders and ensures implementation on schedule
- Documents nursing interventions and patient response at appropriate intervals
- Provides basic patient education and documents teaching and outcomes
- Evaluates patient outcomes and modifies interventions as needed
- Reports changes in patient condition and/or adverse responses to physician and other health professionals
- Performs fetal monitoring
- Maintains acceptable standards of patient care
- Identifies problems and guides personnel to solutions
- Implements physicians’ orders promptly
- Ensures accurate and complete recording and reporting
- Arranges needed supplies and equipment
- Participates in planning changes and improvements
- Performs OB specific procedures such as sterile vaginal exams and nitrazine testing as directed
- Attends monthly staff meetings
- Participates in hospital safety programs
- Supports and enforces infection‑control policies and procedures
- Assists in keeping the nursing unit clean and tidy
- Commits to practicing corporate compliance policies and procedures

Required

Job Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Nebraska
