American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a CVOR position at a Level III Trauma acute care hospital, requiring a minimum of 3 years of OR experience and strong cardiovascular and ortho case skills.
Requirements- Active NE or Compact RN license required
- Current BLS (AHA or ARC) and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 3 years of acute care OR experience required
- Strong ortho (total joints) experience highly preferred
- Ability to scrub and assist with C‑sections required
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
- Must be able to independently jump into cases with minimal ramp‑up time
- Candidates must reside more than 45 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates
- Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) within an acute care, Level III Trauma hospital setting
- Facility operates 7 OR suites, 1 cysto room, and 2 C‑section rooms
- Averages 15–24 cases per day across a broad range of specialties
- Common general OR cases include total joint (ortho), GYN/C‑sections, urology, spine, ENT, GI, and general surgery — no robotics; adult‑focused with pediatric cases limited to tubes and tonsils
- CVOR cases include vascular procedures such as fem‑pops, cut‑downs, hybrid cath lab cases, stents, fistulas, and CABG; no neuro cases
- 8‑hour day shifts, Monday–Friday, scheduled at either 0630–1500 or 0900–1730 at the manager's discretion
- General OR call: approximately 5–6 call shifts per month, including one weekend (Friday–Sunday) per month; call response time is 20 minutes
- CVOR call: approximately 10–11 call shifts per month, including every other weekend (Friday–Sunday)
- Holiday call may be required if a holiday falls within the contract period
- No floating requirements
- EMR:
Epic - Perform scrub and/or circulating duties across a high‑volume, multi‑specialty OR environment
- OR techs are present on the unit to support the surgical team
- Orientation consists of approximately half a day with HR followed by 3–4 days on the unit with a tech
- Facility‑provided scrubs are supplied — no personal scrub color required
- First‑time travelers are not preferred; previous travel experience is a plus
