Job Duties- PRN Monthly Requirement:
Must work a minimum of 32 hours per month with 16 hours on a weekend. - Observe, evaluate, and chart patient behaviors, symptoms, reactions to medications, diet, and environment; respond to patient calls or requests.
- Prepare and administer therapies and treatments such as rehabilitation activities, dressing wounds, or other skin or breathing treatments.
- Document care activities in patient medical record and may collect lab specimens.
- Administer medications, chart time given and amounts on patient records; be aware of potential and actual adverse medication reactions and respond appropriately.
- Assist or collaborate with Registered Nurses in developing nursing care plans; assist in implementation.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to provide input into patient care planning.
- Interpret care and treatment plans and communicate them to other personnel.
- Review charting, evaluate and report patient care to proper persons; keep necessary records.
- Prepare patients for examinations, tests or physician visits.
- Monitor direct care staff; assist in training and educating staff; may act as assistant to charge nurse when necessary.
- Current license to practice as a licensed practical nurse in Nebraska or authority under the Nurse Licensure Compact.
- Knowledge of licensed practical nursing theory and practice, patient care and treatments, medication and medication administration procedures, and use of medical equipment.
- Ability to assess nursing needs and make competent judgments; evaluate patient behaviors, symptoms and medication effects.
- Plan and monitor the work of direct care staff; apply proper body mechanics for heavy lifting.
- Communicate effectively; follow oral and written instructions; maintain records.
- Maintain a helpful and sympathetic attitude toward patients.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and push/pull up to 75 lbs; bend at waist and neck frequently; twist at waist; stand or walk 90% of shift.
- Interact positively with members and adapt to changing job demands.
$29.314 to $38.117/hour (Breakdown: $26.314 to $35.117 plus $3.00/hour differential for each hour worked) plus shift differentials of $1 to $1.75/hour.
