The Truck Sales Representative is responsible for selling new and used medium- and heavy-duty trucks while building and maintaining strong customer relationships. This role focuses on business development, customer engagement, and achieving sales goals through product knowledge, market awareness, and consistent follow-up. The Truck Sales Representative works closely with internal departments to ensure a seamless sales process from initial contact through delivery.
MajorDuties and Responsibilities Sales and Business Development
- Sell new and used medium and heavy-duty trucks
- Develop new business opportunities and maintain relationships with existing customers
- Meet or exceed sales goals and delivery objectives established by the dealership
- Develop and execute territory and account plans
- Secure customer commitments and close sales
- Demonstrate trucks to customers, including test drives when appropriate
- Develop and deliver customer presentations
- Maintain strong knowledge of truck specifications, applications, and industry trends
- Explain product features, warranties, and service support to customers
- Introduce customers to parts and service departments to promote long‑term relationships
- Utilize CRM systems to track prospects, opportunities, and customer interactions
- Follow up on all sales activities, including quotes, orders, and deliveries
- Ensure accuracy and completion of all sales documentation and transaction paperwork
- Follow Finance & Insurance (F&I) turnover processes
- Assist with marketing activities, including online listings and promotional efforts
- Support creation of marketing content such as truck listings and walk‑around videos
- Attend sales meetings, training sessions, and industry events
- Gather market data and monitor competitive activity
- Complete required Company and manufacturer training programs
- Participate in ongoing product and sales training to improve performance
- Maintain a professional appearance and represent the Company positively
- Collaborate with coworkers and suppliers to support sales efforts

Education- High school diploma or GED required
- Prior experience in heavy‑duty truck sales or a related field preferred
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including spreadsheets, database systems, email, and CRM software required
- Strong sales and negotiation skills
- Ability to build and maintain customer relationships
- Effective communication and presentation skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently
- Basic math skills including calculating discounts, commissions, and percentages
- Ability to learn and retain detailed product knowledge
- Valid driver's license with insurability under Company standards
