We specialize in engineering and industrial services for the U.S. Navy, Coast Guard, Military Sealift Command, and other Department of Defense organizations.

Position Overview

We are hiring a Marine Electrician I to support our Fleet Services Group in Norfolk, VA. The role requires hands‑on experience with Hull, Mechanical & Electrical (HM&E) systems and equipment, and the ability to work in shipboard and marine environments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Leverage practical shipboard experience with HM&E systems and equipment.
  • Inspect, repair, install, modify, and maintain electrical/electronic systems, circuits, and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose shipboard electronic and electrical system issues.
  • Set up, test, and correct operational and experimental electrical machinery, circuitry, and equipment per pre‑established guidelines and engineering specifications.
  • Interpret electrical schematics and installation drawings.
  • Perform on‑site field service for system grooms, checkouts, minor repairs, and configuration validation.
  • Verify mechanical alignments.
  • Provide technical expertise with power generation and transmission equipment and motorized valve actuators.
  • Assemble multi‑pin connectors and fiber optic connections.
Experience and Skills
  • High school, trade, or vocational school degree.
  • 1–3 years of direct experience in ship repair and installation of HM&E systems and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret ship installation drawings, instructions, and NAVSEA Standard Items.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Technical expertise with power generation and transmission equipment, motorized valve actuators, PLCs, fiber optics, and integrated network systems.
  • Experience with NAVSEA cableway and connectorization practices.
  • Knowledge of electrical schematics and installation drawings.
  • Certification in relevant areas is a plus.

Security Requirements
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance (Secret).
  • U.S. citizenship required for all positions.
Travel Requirements
  • Occasional travel up to 10% within and outside of the continental United States.
  • Some positions require domestic flight travel or access to secure federal facilities; candidates must obtain and maintain appropriate identification credentials (e.g., REAL ).
Physical Requirements
  • Exposure to open‑air environments, including noisy, hot, and cold conditions.
  • Required to visit project sites aboard ships and rigs, both onshore and offshore.
  • Wear appropriate PPE (hearing, eye, head, hand protection).
  • Site visits may involve standing, bending, crouching, and climbing over obstructions.
  • Exposure to sound levels exceeding 100 decibels.
  • Must possess sufficient visual acuity, peripheral vision, depth perception, and night vision for inspection and operation.
  • May work in confined spaces with limited ventilation.
  • Requires prolonged periods of sedentary work, including sitting and/or standing.
  • May operate machinery, power tools, and heavy equipment.
  • Must possess the ability to lift and carry 30 lbs. or more.
