Summary
You will serve as an Accountant in the FLT COMPTROLLER, FINANCIAL MGMT of COMMANDER US FLEET FORCES COMMAND.
Duties- You will apply accounting concepts of financial statement assertions, financial reporting objectives, testing of internal controls and compiling key supporting documentation in support of audit readiness
- You will perform and document financial reconciliations, detect inconsistencies in processing and management reports; and improve internal controls to ensure the accuracy of accounting data.
- You will assist in the development and documentation of functions and processes within assigned work area.
- You will incorporate financial improvement methodology in ensuring compliance and reporting requirements towards achieving audit readiness for USFFC and supported BSO activities
- You will analyze and evaluate accounting concepts, public laws, governing policies, guideline rules, regulations and precedents.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
- Experience in interpreting, preparing, examining, analyzing and presenting financial data, records, and reports.
- Experience mapping Financial Processes to Accounting events in order to validate accurate account balances reported in financial statements.
- Experience identifying and documenting financial processes and procedures and writing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Experience in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of program operations.
- Experience utilizing Navy Enterprise Resource Program (N-ERP) to research transactional data to ensure USFFC financial statements and underlying records are accurate, compliant with Federal standards and prepared to withstand independent financial audits.
