Administrative Technician
Job Description
The Norfolk Community Services Board (NCSB) provides treatment, support, and education for community members with mental illness, substance use disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and housing/homelessness needs. This role serves as the administrative technician for the Integrated Care Clinic Administration.
Essential Functions- Manages day‑to‑day administrative operations of assigned tasks, including appointment scheduling, insurance verification, log maintenance, answering phone calls, and communicating with clinic staff.
- Runs insurance verification, understands EOBs and denials, prepares payment vouchers, and processes invoices for payment.
- Assists staff with problem solving issues with office equipment, including computers, software, and printers.
- Organizes, maintains, and adjusts complex file systems to provide ready access to information and to produce reports.
- Receives, sorts, date‑stamps, and distributes mail and other documents.
- Composes and sends correspondence, form letters, and general reports.
- Recommends new or modified procedures to enhance operations.
- Reviews information for accuracy, completeness, and conformance to established standards; researches documents, answers routine inquiries, and locates information.
- Undertakes special assignments and projects as needed.
Education/
Experience:
Minimum two years clerical experience. Requires knowledge of vocational or administrative tasks, obtainable with six months/one year of advanced study or training past high school equivalency, or through a junior college or vocational program.
Preferred:
Level of knowledge equivalent to four years of high school or equivalency. Bachelor’s degree or higher may substitute work experience (as approved by the department). Two years of general office work experience is also preferred.
- Valid driver’s license may be required depending on assignment.
Monday‑Friday 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (40 hours per week).
