Role Overview
Vers Ability Resources is seeking a detail-oriented Personnel Assistant II to support administrative operations within the Military Sealift Command (MSC) Workforce Relations department.

This role is responsible for performing a variety of clerical and administrative tasks to support personnel actions, maintain records, and ensure efficient day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates strong organizational skills, and maintains a high level of confidentiality.

What You'll Do

• Provide administrative support including managing correspondence, scheduling meetings, and maintaining files

• Assist in processing personnel actions, case files, separation packages, and awards

• Perform accurate data entry and maintain organizational records and documentation

• Answer and direct phone calls while providing excellent customer service

• Draft and manage correspondence, reports, and mailings

• Conduct research and support special projects as needed

• Maintain office supplies and ensure inventory levels are adequate

• Collaborate with team members to support workflow and operations

• Assist in training junior staff as needed

• Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive information (PII)

• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required (college degree in HR or related field preferred)

• Minimum of 2 years of administrative or office experience

• Experience with data entry and HRIS systems preferred

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams)

• Strong organizational and time management skills

• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

• Strong communication and customer service skills

• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment

• Ability to obtain and maintain Secret Security Clearance

Work Environment and

Physical Requirements
This position operates in a professional office environment supporting a government contract. The role requires frequent interaction with staff, leadership, and external stakeholders.

Work is primarily sedentary with prolonged periods of sitting and computer use. Occasional standing, walking, and lifting (up to 10-20 lbs.) may be required.

Schedule
This is a full-time position scheduled Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, offering a consistent daytime schedule. Occasional flexibility may be required based on operational needs.
