Position Overview
Campus Receptionist at Tidewater Tech. Centered in our Norfolk, VA campus, this role creates a welcoming atmosphere for visitors, manages inbound calls, and supports the Admissions Department with documentation and administrative tasks under the direction of the Director of Admissions.
Key Responsibilities- Greet visitors warmly and provide information, directing them to appropriate departments or services.
- Handle inbound calls, address inquiries, and facilitate communication between the campus and external stakeholders.
- Assist the Admissions Department with electronic and hard‑copy documentation, ensuring accurate record‑keeping and timely processing of materials as directed.
- Enter and manage inquiries into Campus Nexus, utilizing the Quick Lead method or Inquiry Folder, and conduct daily audits of inquiries.
- Maintain a running list of lead returns, assist with lead distribution, and ensure accurate reporting and follow‑up.
- Generate daily activity reports detailing interviews and financial aid appointments, submitting updates as required.
- Provide comprehensive administrative assistance to faculty and staff, performing various tasks as needed at the discretion of the Director of Admissions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, demonstrating adaptability and collaborative spirit within the admissions team.
- High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent on‑the‑job experience.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, performance‑driven, compliance‑oriented educational environment.
- Detail‑oriented, analytical, highly organized, and capable of multitasking, prioritizing tasks, and working well under pressure.
- Strong integrity, work ethic, and professionalism.
- Persuasive verbal and written communication skills with a strong focus on customer service in an educational setting.
- Highly motivated, goal‑oriented, with strong problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member with exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Excellent computer skills with proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams).
- Willingness to work outside of regular shifts, including evenings and/or weekends as necessary.
- Experience as a Receptionist or in a multi‑line telephone system.
- Prior experience in a college admissions environment.
- Campus Nexus experience.
Monday – Thursday: 2 days 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, 2 days 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Two Saturdays per month: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
• Work hours may change based on business needs; flexibility is required.
Up to $21 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, and other relevant factors.
