Description
The Liturgy Coordinator and Administrative Assistant s X Church works with the Administrator/Pastor to oversee all liturgical ministries and assist with liturgical planning for weekends, holy days, school liturgies, funerals, and weddings. The Liturgical Coordinator and Administrative Assistant is also responsible for assisting the Administrator/Pastor with correspondence and overseeing the volunteer receptionists.
Because the parish office is open 24 hours a week and this position is 35 hours a week full-time salary, the Liturgy Coordinator and Administrative Assistant is expected to conduct work outside of the parish office hours. Due to required weekend and evening work, the Liturgy Coordinator and Administrative Assistant in conjunction with the Administrator/Pastor would establish an understanding of weekly time-off, e.g., Friday and Monday due to weekend/evening work.
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds may be necessary; some light, physical effort is required (e.g., bend, walk, climb on a step-stool, etc.)
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, with preferred emphasis in Communications, Marketing, or Theology
- Familiarity and experience with computers, cloud-based systems, and social media platforms
- Willingness to be trained and learn advanced software programs, such as Adobe In-Design, Adobe Acrobat (full version), MS Word (e.g.mail merge), MS Excel (e.g., managing shared files across users)
- Active and practicing member of the Catholic Church with an understanding of the teaching and mission of the Church
- Possess leadership abilities in planning, administration, volunteer management, catechesis, group facilitation, and/or empowerment
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and communications skills
- Exhibits strong organizational skills, including time management, delegation, planning, and budgeting
- Ability to work independently and organize and arrange priorities, completing tasks in a timely manner
- Initiative, self-direction, and ability to work with a variety of constituencies
- Displays compassion and pastoral sensitivity
- Familiarity with work and life of the parish and school is helpful, though not required
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters
