Job Description:Tidewater Community College has served South Hampton Roads - both students and employers - for 50 years. It has grown from 1 campus into a regional educational and economic force. TCC is the largest provider of higher education and workforce services in Hampton Roads, enrolling nearly 25,000 students in 2024-25. Founded in 1968 as a part of the Virginia Community College System, Tidewater Community College (TCC) services South Hampton Roads with 4 campuses in Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, and Virginia Beach, 7 regional centers and 2 important cultural institutions.
The college had 3,399 graduates in , 40 percent of whom pursued degrees that would let them transfer to 4-year institutions. This position will provide general office assistance to the college's Marketing department by drafting letters, answering and directing phone call traffic, and provide general office support.
This position will provide purchasing support for the department through eVA.
This position will also serve as the coordinator within the departments project management system requiring consistent communication with clients within the college.
This position will also frequently communicate with college administration and the general public using both oral and written communication in an effort to provide quality customer service.
Minimum Qualifications:- Ability to work well in a fast-paced, confidential executive environment.
- Ability to manage a complex administrative office through hands-on, detail-oriented leadership.
- Ability to make decisions independently.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with individuals at all levels within the college.
- Ability to effectively communicate with employees, students, and external stakeholders, orally and written.
- Ability to synthesize large amounts of information from various sources and produce specific reports and summaries.
- Ability to review and analyze multiple State budgets.
- Ability to analyze business processes and recommend modifications to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Ability to distribute and monitor assignments to ensure timely completion and meet deadlines.
- Ability to interpret and apply TCC, VCCS, and State, policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of PC environment with advanced skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e-mail, and Internet use.
- Understanding of College Brand Standards and Policies
- Ability to support small design needs such as flyers and applications to design such as Photoshop, InDesign, and Canva.
