Category Analyst (CPG) – Acosta Sales & Marketing

Norfolk, VA, United States
This hybrid role requires onsite presence 3 days a week in an Acosta Group office. You will generate data and insights in support of category management and sales projects and initiatives, including category reviews, new item presentations, scorecards, assortment/shelving, and ad‑hoc analytics.
Responsibilities- Provide analytical support for category management and sales projects and initiatives using CPG and retailer data sources and tools.
- Ensure quality control of data sources and accuracy of deliverables, engaging with BI associates and data/tool vendors as needed.
- Build and update weekly and monthly dashboards and provide actionable insights.
- Participate in developing sales presentations that incorporate syndicated data and other relevant sources to address business issues.
- Collaborate closely with business managers to deliver high‑quality results.
- Stay informed about client KPIs, strategies, innovation, and other critical information.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 1‑3 years of related work experience.
- Intermediate proficiency in Windows, Excel, and PowerPoint; knowledge of Power BI and advanced macros is a strong asset.
- Experience with retailer POS, syndicated data, and/or category space‑management tools is an asset.
- Demonstrated drive for results and the energy to pursue assigned tasks.
- Ability to apply basic math and CPG principles to complete assigned work.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Basic visual and tactile abilities required for reading data in a standard office environment.
CompensationSalary Range: $52,200.00 – $60,000.00 per year.
