Overview
Job Description The Logistics Analyst I provides on-site logistics support services for a federal customer in Norfolk, VA, primarily by accepting requests for new Items and Companies to be added to the work management system (Maximo), researching the Item or Company, and creating or updating records in the system. In addition, this position will analyze Item and Company usage data and update tables through results from analysis.
Responsibilities- Accept requests for new Items and Companies to be added to the work management system (Maximo); research the Item or Company and create or update records in the system.
- Analyze Item and Company usage data and update relevant tables based on analysis results.
- Perform tasks within established and specific guidelines, using good judgment to locate and apply the most appropriate guidelines, references, and procedures.
- Use directives and instructions from DLA, NAVFAC, NAVSUP, and Maximo procedure manuals; conduct fact-finding, review information, and make recommendations to resolve discrepancies.
- Escalate situations where existing guidelines cannot be applied or where the deviation from guidelines is significant, to a supervisor.
- Plan and carry out successive steps and handle problems and deviations in the work assignment in accordance with governing supply procedures and standards. Have work evaluated for technical soundness and conformity to policy and requirements; completed work is subject to spot checks for accuracy and compliance with directives, procedures, and quality standards.
- Knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions applicable to the Navy and NAVFAC.
- Ability to conduct extensive and technical searches for information and material and to construct records for item management.
- Working knowledge of property inventory techniques, maintenance of asset records, and accountability.
- Knowledge of local, Navy, and Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) automated systems, e.g., WebFLIS, Fed Log, Log, Logiquest, One Touch, Federal Supply Class Assignment, DoD Fed Mall, GSA Advantage, and Maximo supply systems.
- Ability to perform duties assigned independently without specific technical direction after initial training.
- Effective communicator, experienced in customer service, responding to email and telephone calls.
- Skilled in using Microsoft Access or SQL Developer, and Microsoft Office Professional applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 2 years of related experience.
