Business Consultant Sr. – Federal and State Mandates
Location:
Norfolk, VA (Hybrid; in‑office 1–2 days per week, remote otherwise)
Overview: The Business Consultant Sr. translates highly complex business needs into application software requirements, focusing on federal and state mandates to ensure compliance and cost savings. This senior role provides guidance to lower‑level consultants and leads teams on high‑impact projects.
Key Responsibilities- Gather and analyze business requirements with emphasis on federal and state regulations.
- Evaluate the impact of federal and state mandates on business processes and systems.
- Provide expertise to lower‑level consultants on analysis and needs assessment.
- Determine specific business application software requirements to address complex needs.
- Lead teams of analysts on the most complex, high‑importance projects.
- Analyze and design solutions to meet regulatory and business requirements.
- Assist in developing and executing testing plans to ensure compliance.
- BA/BS degree with minimum 10 years of business analysis experience.
- Minimum 3 years as a Business Consultant with project management skills.
- Working knowledge of mainframe computers, hardware, and operating systems.
- Strong understanding of federal and state regulatory environments.
- Corporate regulatory or legal experience preferred.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with business analysis tools such as Microsoft Excel, Visio, BI tools; experience with Smartsheet preferred.
Salary range: $101,304 – $173,664 (based on location, experience, and other factors). Comprehensive benefits package and incentive programs are available.
