Job DescriptionThe Facilities Manager assists with overall stage and performer related operations including promoting, planning, scheduling, budgeting, and purchasing under the supervision of the Director of Theatre Facilities. The position also assists with load-ins, hangs, and system set‑ups for the Old Dominion University Theatre, Goode Theatre, and Brock Commons.
Knowledge, skills and abilities- Basic knowledge of stage related activities such as stage management, carpentry, rigging, electrics, sound, properties, or theatrical design.
- Basic knowledge of creating and maintaining festival plots for both sound and light.
- Strong speaking, writing & communication skills with both internal and external constituents.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Some skill with Excel and Word required.
- Some skill with technical theatre software.
- Ability to build strong teams.
- Ability to supervise and direct stage crew activities.
- Ability to provide technical support in all areas of event production.

Level and type of experience- Some experience in promotions, scheduling, maintaining performance spaces.
- Some experience in the technical operation of a theatrical venues, such as stage management, carpentry, rigging, electrics, sound, properties, or theatrical design.
- B.A. in Theatre or related field.
- Considerable experience in theatre production.
- Design experience in lighting or sound or media.
- Expertise in at least ONE stage related activities such as stage management, carpentry, rigging, electrics, sound, properties, or theatrical design.
Working Hours vary based on events in the theatre; staff must be flexible to changes in the schedule on short notice.
