Pay: $18.00/hr – $24.00/hr (Based on experience)
We are currently seeking a Concrete Skilled Laborer to join our Wagman Heavy Civil, Inc. team. Reporting to the direct supervisor, the Laborer will assist the crews on site to complete construction related tasks. Tasks on this site include assisting pipe laying crew and other crews with carrying and setting up materials such as shovels, rigging, signaling, maintenance of traffic, chipping concrete, helping pour concrete, and other site specific tasks.
This position works alongside the entire Project Team to support the completion of assigned construction projects and ensures quality work is executed in a timely fashion. This is a safety-sensitive position requiring work on construction sites with various safety hazards inherent in heavy construction.
This position is subject to drug testing and compliance policies associated with our status as a Federal Contractor.
Qualifications- HS Diploma or GED (can be replaced with relevant work experience)
- Reliable transportation
- Experience in heavy highway and/or bridge construction preferred
- Familiar with paving, concrete, highway and/or bridge construction and all other highway construction scopes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong prioritization and organizational skills; detail-oriented
- Carry, load, unload and stack materials
- Lay out materials and assist experienced crew members
- Dig with pick and shovel
- Shovel, rake, spread and vibrate concrete into place
- Climb embankments and ladders to transport material to various work sites on project as needed
- Jackhammer and saw cut, chip concrete
- Clean up project site of debris
- Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds from ground level to waist level and 30 pounds to above shoulder level throughout work shift. Must be able to work at heights up to 150 feet.
- Continuous standing and walking required throughout a scheduled work shift.
- Must be able to perform simple grasping and fine manipulation tasks with both hands.
- Must be able to climb ladders.
- Must be able to bend, squat, kneel and crawl.
- Must be able to work outdoors in wet, muddy, cold, hot and humid weather.
- Required to have acceptable corrected vision (in both eyes) and hearing.
- Required to have the ability to reach, lift and perform work above shoulder height and work on uneven surfaces and in confined spaces.
