The Virginia Symphony Orchestra is hiring for a tenure-track Second Bassoon position starting in the season. Live auditions are scheduled for October 20 and 21, 2026, and the deadline for submitting application materials is September 22, 2026. The annual salary for this position is $36,703.80, with additional compensation for electronic media and community engagement, bringing the total to $38,646.88. The orchestra performs a diverse 36-week season featuring classical, pops, family, ballet, and opera repertoire.
Applicants must have US work authorization, and a deposit of $100 is required by the Final date to receive applications. This deposit is refundable until October 6, 2026, if the applicant cancels.
