The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Macon & Joan Brock Virginia Health Sciences at Old Dominion University, within Eastern Virginia Medical Group (EVMG), is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) physician to join our academic faculty. This position offers the opportunity to practice in a high-acuity, multidisciplinary setting while also contributing to the teaching and research missions of a leading academic medical center.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with Nursing, office staff, administration in patient care
* Collaborate with peers, faculty and support staff
* Participate in academic/clinical/research activities as needed
* Provide administrative and supervisory support to educational, clinical, research mission.
* Participate in committees as assigned.
* Communication skills to present teaching materials
* Participate in education evaluation and career development of students, residents, fellows and staff.
* Provide physician care to patients in office/hospital setting.
* Supervise staff under faculty supervision.
Qualifications
Requirements:
* MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
* Completion of an ACGME-accredited Obstetrics & Gynecology residency program.
* Board-certified or board-eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology.
* Active state medical license (or eligibility for licensure).
* Current BLS and ACLS; NRP and other certifications as required by the institution.
Preferred Experience or Attributes:
* Strong clinical decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Commitment to patient-centered, culturally sensitive care.
* Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
* Proficiency with electronic medical records.
