Job Duties

The Admissions Counselor will report to the Director of Recruitment.

The successful candidate will:

Make follow-up personal, telephone, and letter contacts to prospective students, and arrange visits of prospective students to the campus.

Work with Alumni Affairs and academic departments on various recruitment efforts.

Assist in collecting data, compiling reports, conducting research, and in planning relative to the University's program of student recruitment and admission.

Assist in preparing publications to support student recruitment.

Assist in evaluating transcripts of all students.

Render admissions decisions under established policies and procedures.

Visit and partner with churches, civic organizations, and other agencies to attract prospective students to the University.

Enter student data into computer system.

Represent the University with a high level of professionalism at recruitment events, both on and off campus and in and out of state, frequently requiring weekend travel.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Associate Director of Recruitment.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in counseling, education, sociology or related field.

One (1) year of experience in enrollment management.

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and to present information clearly and concisely.

Demonstrated ability to exhibit professionalism and a well-groomed appearance.

Demonstrated ability to establish relationships between the University employees and other colleges and universities, schools, church groups and other entities.

Considerable knowledge of counseling and guidance techniques in student recruitment.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively with other faculty and staff, parents, and professional staff at external agencies.

Possess a current driver's license.

Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and other software applications.

Demonstrated ability to communicate to a diverse audience, verbally and in writing, with emphasis applied to a commitment to diversity.

Ability to travel frequently.
