Compensation: up to $55/hour

Schedule:

Mon–Fri schedule, with the option of four 10-hour days (Mon–Thurs)

We’re looking for experienced Journeyman Lineworkers to train the next generation in Norfolk, VA. This role is ideal for a journeyman ready to step off the road and into a consistent, mission-driven instructor position, without losing touch with the hands-on work that matters.

Students learn essential skills in tool use, ladder and scaffold safety, electrical fundamentals, grounding, circuit analysis, and the proper use of PPE.Training

includes climbing and working on utility poles, inspecting climbing gear, performing pole-top rescues, and completing CPR, First Aid, and Bloodborne Pathogen certification. Students also gain experience with aerial framing, pole setting, rigging, trenching, and operating equipment such as bucket trucks and digger derricks.

Graduates leave with the practical skills and confidence needed to safely support electrical distribution of construction and maintenance and to advance into further technical training or apprenticeships.

Essential Duties (not All-inclusive)
* Teach Lineman Training Program courses with emphasis on safety, OSHA/NESC standards, and climbing/rescue techniques.
* Assess student performance through assignments and hands-on evaluations and maintain accurate records.
* Mentor students on career paths and certifications while supporting industry partnerships that enhance training and employment opportunities.
* Maintain updated course materials and ensure all classroom, lab, and climbing equipment meet safety and industry standards.
* Engage in ongoing professional development and complete duties assigned by program or campus leadership.
* Perform and complete other tasks as assigned by the Program Coordinator, Campus Director of Education, and/or Campus Executive Director.
* Flexible hours as required.
