Job Duties
  • Teach one or more undergraduate courses in American Government with emphasis on civic engagement.
  • Develop syllabi, assignments, and assessments consistent with departmental learning outcomes.
  • Maintain effective student engagement in both classroom and online settings (when applicable).
  • Provide timely feedback and academic support to students.
  • Collaborate with department faculty to enhance curriculum and civic education initiatives.
  • Uphold the university’s commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and community engagement.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in political science, public administration, or a closely related discipline (Ph.D. preferred).
  • Demonstrated expertise in American Government, secondary interest in civic engagement, political behavior, or public affairs.
  • Additional Considerations
    • Evidence of successful teaching at the college or university level.
    • Ability to work with community stakeholders (e.g., advocacy groups, elected and government officials, non-profits, businesses, schools, and NGOs) to promote civic engagement.
