Early Childhood Special Educator

Job Summary

Early Childhood Special Educator for the Infant & Toddler Connection division. Provides developmental services to children born through 2 years of age and their families who are receiving early intervention services. Supports a caseload of individuals with developmental delays, atypical development, and/or a medical condition that may lead to developmental delay.

• Provide developmental services in accordance with Individualized Family Service Plans.
• Utilize coaching and adult learning principles to teach families intervention strategies for daily routines.
• Serve on multidisciplinary assessment teams each week to evaluate children and develop appropriate treatment plans.
• Deliver services in the child's home or other community locations.

• Bachelor's degree and one year of experience working with developmentally delayed infants/toddlers.
• Virginia Department of Education teaching license in one of the following areas:
  Early Childhood Special Education (birth–5);
  Early/Primary Education (PreK-3);
  Early/Primary Education (NK-4);
  Elementary Education (PreK-6);
  Educator of the Hearing Impaired;
  Educator of the Visually Impaired;
  Adapted Curriculum (K‑12);
  General Curriculum (K‑12); or additional licensure areas acceptable to the Infant & Toddler Connection of Virginia.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Early Intervention (EI) Professional certification from the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) required within the first month of employment.
• CPR and First Aid certification required within the first six months of employment.

• Provisional licenses are not accepted.
• Signing Bonus: one-time $5,000.
• Work Hours:
  
  Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM.

Salary Range: $62,732 – $71,987.
