Assistant Professor of Reproductive Clinical Science (Non-Tenured F3248A)
The ODU / EVMS School of Health Professions invites applications for an Assistant Professor to join the Reproductive Clinical Science (RCS) Master’s and Ph.D. programs. This role provides an opportunity to deliver high-quality instruction in both synchronous and asynchronous formats and to mentor graduate students.
Responsibilities- Develop and teach graduate-level courses within the RCS curriculum using hybrid and online delivery formats.
- Facilitate both synchronous and asynchronous instruction, including active participation in evening and weekend course activities.
- Engage students through discussion boards and other interactive online learning tools.
- Design, implement, and evaluate student learning assessments; provide timely and constructive feedback and grading.
- Advise and mentor graduate students in research projects, theses, and dissertations.
- Support students requiring additional academic assistance to achieve learning objectives.
- Establish and maintain an independent research program aligned with reproductive sciences.
- Publish scholarly work and present at professional conferences.
- Pursue external funding through grant writing and collaborative research initiatives.
- Participate in departmental, institutional, and professional service activities.
- Contribute to curriculum development, program assessment, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences or a closely related field from a nationally accredited institution or equivalent health professions program.
- Completed postdoctoral training with evidence of scholarly productivity (e.g., peer-reviewed publications).
- Demonstrated experience or strong potential in teaching at the college, university, or academic health center level, including online instruction.
- Evidence of ability or strong potential to develop and submit competitive research proposals and grant applications.
- Experience or strong commitment to mentoring graduate students at the Master’s and/or Ph.D. level.
- Collaboration & Teamwork:
Ability to build and sustain effective working relationships with faculty, students, and staff. - Time Management & Accountability:
Strong organizational skills to manage teaching, research, and service responsibilities. - Adaptability & Initiative:
Capacity to respond to evolving academic environments. - Communication
Skills:
Clear and effective verbal and written communication. - Professional Integrity:
Commitment to ethical conduct and compliance with institutional policies.
- Experience using learning management systems such as Canvas and developing online or hybrid curricula.
- Knowledge of biostatistics and its application in biomedical research.
- Research background in human reproduction or related biomedical disciplines.
- Evidence of interdisciplinary collaboration or translational research experience.
