Job Description The ODU / EVMS School of Health Professions invites applications for an Assistant Professor to join the Reproductive Clinical Science (RCS) Master’s and Ph.D. programs. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative, hybrid graduate programs designed for working professionals. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in reproductive clinical sciences, a passion for graduate education, and the ability to deliver engaging, high-quality instruction in both synchronous and asynchronous formats.
This role offers the opportunity to mentor motivated graduate students, build a strong record of scholarly productivity, and collaborate across disciplines to advance research and academic excellence. Flexibility in scheduling is essential to support evening and weekend instructional activities.

Minimum Required Education
Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences or a closely related field from a nationally accredited institution or equivalent health professions program.Completed postdoctoral training with evidence of scholarly productivity (e.g., peer‑reviewed publications).Minimum Required Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Demonstrated experience or strong potential in teaching at the college, university, or academic health center level, including online instruction (synchronous and/or asynchronous).Evidence of ability or strong potential to develop and submit competitive research proposals and grant applications.Experience or strong commitment to mentoring graduate students at the Master’s and/or Ph.D. level.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and teach graduate-level courses within the RCS curriculum using hybrid and online delivery formats.Facilitate both synchronous and asynchronous instruction, including active participation in evening and weekend course activities.Engage students through discussion boards and other interactive online learning tools.Design, implement, and evaluate student learning assessments using a variety of methods; provide timely and constructive feedback and grading.Student Support and MentorshipAdvise student research projects, theses, and dissertations as appropriate.Mentor graduate students in academic progression and professional growth.Support students who require additional academic assistance to achieve learning objectives.Research and ScholarshipEstablish and maintain an independent research program aligned with reproductive sciences.Publish scholarly work in peer-reviewed journals and present at professional conferences.Pursue external funding through grant writing and collaborative research initiatives.Service and Institutional EngagementParticipate in departmental, institutional, and professional service activities.Contribute to curriculum development, program assessment, and continuous improvement efforts.Perform other duties as assigned in support of program and institutional goals.Work Schedule Expectations
The RCS programs primarily serve working professionals; therefore, instructional activities are often conducted during evenings and weekends.Candidates must demonstrate flexibility and willingness to adjust work schedules to meet programmatic needs and ensure student engagement and success.Core Competencies
