Position SummaryThe Curriculum Coach/Floating Director will assist the Program Director by helping all programs with curriculum implementation, accreditation, licensing, and quality oversight of general practice, policy, and procedures vital to all major and minor functionality of Children’s Harbor centers. The Curriculum Coach/Floating Director also supports the Center Director in all areas of programming as needed.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or related field required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role managing multiple high-level staff.
- Eight or more years of progressive experience and responsibility in childcare or early childhood education preferred.
- Minimum of an associate degree in early childhood education and at least 5 years’ experience in a leadership role required.
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Job Responsibilities- Oversee curriculum implementation and conduct fidelity checks.
- Conduct center audits to ensure fidelity and quality across the agency.
- Create and follow up on center improvement plans from audit findings.
- Provide direct support and training to centers, including coaching, training, and guidance for licensing, NAEYC, C.L.A.S.S., child development, etc.
- Provide coverage in the absence of the Center Director and Assistant Center Director as needed.
- Conduct daily classroom observations.
- Provide training and support for ASQ evaluations, ensuring full compliance.
- Stay current and knowledgeable in program implementation and quality improvement areas such as curriculum and assessments.
- Provide training and support for maintaining NAEYC accreditation.
- Provide coaching and development to continuously improve C.L.A.S.S. scores for VQB5 (Virginia Quality Birth to Five).
- Maintain CLASS certification in all age groups.
- Other duties as assigned by the Program Director.

- Thorough knowledge of VDOE licensing standards and regulations, C.L.A.S.S., NAEYC accreditation, Early Childhood best practices, Early Childhood development, and classroom environments.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficiency with or ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.
