Nevada State University invites applications for the position of Student Worker – Student Ambassador in the Admissions & Recruitment office. The student worker will provide prospective students, parents, and visitors with exceptional customer service, assisting them with general inquiries, campus tours, and recruitment‑related activities. As a student worker, you will play an essential role in introducing prospective students to our university and creating a welcoming environment on campus.
CoreResponsibilities
- Greet and assist students and parents visiting the Admissions & Recruitment office.
- Lead campus tours, sharing insights about the university’s programs, campus life, and resources.
- Assist in planning and executing campus recruitment events.
- Respond promptly and professionally to phone calls and emails related to admissions and recruitment inquiries.
- Scan and upload documents into the admissions database.
- Provide support on various projects and administrative tasks within the Admissions & Recruitment department.
- Contribute to social media content creation and posting.
- Offer assistance to other university departments as needed.
- Attend and table at off‑campus recruitment fairs (mileage will be reimbursed).
- Maintain a GPA of 2.0 or higher and be in good academic standing.
- Enroll as a degree‑seeking student with a minimum of 6 credits in the current or upcoming semester at Nevada State University.
- Be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Fluency in a second language.
- Previous customer‑service experience.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with People Soft, Element
451, or OnBase systems. - Some digital creation knowledge.
- Workup to 15 hours per week (student employees can work up to 19.5 hours per week).
- Hourly rate: $14.00 per hour.
