Job Summary:

The Director of Academic Services of the Perry Honors College tosupport student progression and success. They will lead and supervise the entire team of PHC academic advisors and work closely with the Dean and Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs on formulating and implementing policies related to PHCcurriculum.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree with equivalent related experience in a higher education setting
  • Comprehensive knowledge of academic advising theories,developmental advising models, and high-impact educational practices for high-achieving and Honors student populations.
  • Advanced knowledge of higher education policies, compliance structures, curriculum alignment, and legal guidelines, including strict application and oversight of FERPA regulations.
  • Thorough understanding of student information systems (such as Banner, Degree Works, and Navigate) and data tracking tools used tomonitor student progression and retention.
  • Advanced supervisory and leadership skills, with a proven ability to manage, inspire, mentor, and evaluate a team of professional advising staff.
  • Expert-level interpersonal and relationship-building skills,with a demonstrated ability to successfully navigate complex campus dynamics, collaborate across university divisions, and advocate forteam needs.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex data sets into clear executive updates and articulate Honors policies persuasively to diverse populations.
  • Highly Developed technical proficiency, with the ability to confidently design, audit, and pull reports from university records databases and tracking systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to champion and cultivate a supportive,inclusive environment for a highly diverse population of students,faculty, staff, and campus administrators.
  • Proven ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy, make strategic decisions under pressure, balance competing priorities,and drive long-term projects to completion.
  • Comprehensive capacity for empathy, adaptability, and an active growth mindset, paired with the resilience required to manage sensitive student crises or team challenges.
  • Advanced analytical ability to evaluate student progression trends, identify institutional barriers to student success, and collaborate creatively on innovative Honors curriculum and programmatic solutions.
