Job Details

The School of Accountancy in the Strome College of Business at Old Dominion University invites applications for a full-time, 10-month, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Accounting, beginning January 2027. We seek candidates who possess a balanced perspective toward high-quality research, effective classroom teaching, and active engagement with the accounting profession. Teaching responsibilities will include both undergraduate and graduate-level courses.

A successful candidate is expected to teach tax and other areas of accounting.

Minimum Qualifications
  • A Ph.D. in Accounting or related field from an AACSB-accredited institution by the time of appointment
  • Eligible to meet ODU criteria for Scholarly Academic status
  • Demonstrated teaching experience in accounting
Preferred Qualifications
  • Record of scholarly activity, including publications in high-quality, peer-reviewed journals
  • Teaching experience and interest in taxation and/or across multiple areas of accounting
  • Relevant professional or industry experience in taxation
  • Professional certification (i.e., CPA, CMA, etc.)
