Norfolk Collegiate is seeking an Extended Care Worker to join our after-school extended care program. This position provides direct supervision, care, and structured engagement for elementary students, fostering a safe, supportive, and active environment after the school day ends.

Compensation & Employment Details:

Pay Rate:$15.00 per hour for candidates with relevant college coursework $20.00 per hour for candidates holding a college degree in Education Position Type:
Part-time, non-exempt (hourly)

Hours:

3:00 PM – 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday during the academic year Target Student Population:
Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 5

Key Responsibilities:

Provide active supervision and maintain a safe, welcoming environment for children in Pre-K through 5th grade during after-school hours

Facilitate age-appropriate activities, games, and projects tailored to elementary school students

Assist students with homework completion and provide constructive educational support

Manage secure check-in and check-out procedures for students arriving from class and leaving with approved guardians

Maintain positive communication with parents, guardians, and school administration regarding student well-being and daily participation

Guide student behavior constructively, ensuring adherence to school standards and safety guidelines

Qualifications:

One to three years of experience working with young children required

College coursework in elementary education, child development, or psychology from a two-year or four-year institution required; a completed degree in Education is highly preferred

Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills suitable for an educational environment
