Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Must have completed military aviation maintenance training or maintenance technical school curriculum
Seven (7) years actual and recent aircraft experience required.
Three (3) years F/A-18 experience. Three (3) years F/A-18E/F/EA-18G QAR/CDQAR with maintenance control supervisory required.
Ability to troubleshoot malfunctions in various aircraft systems and be able to perform general Organizational Level maintenance of the assigned aircraft.
Possess a level of experience necessary to inspect all aircraft assigned, direct flight line/deck operations, certify Aircraft/Engine Logbook entries and possess one or more of the specialties:
Propulsion/Engine and Fuel Systems
ARS pods
Airframe/Structural, Landing Gear Launch/Arresting, Wing/Pylon Fold, Hydraulic/Pneumantic, and Mechanical flight Control System
Egress and/or Environmental Control Systems;
Aviation Life Support Systems (ALSS)
Avionics Communication /Navigation / Identification/Electronic Countermeasures/RADAR and Weapon Control Systems
Power Distribution/Electrical Power, Instruments, Compass, Automatic Flight Control and Lighting Systems
Corrosion (Paint and Final Finish)
Thorough knowledge of technical publications related to aircraft maintenance mandatory.
A strong working knowledge of quality assurance processes in aviation maintenance.
Knowledge of sheet metal, properties of materials, fuels, and oils required.
Must be able to inspect, repair, and operate ground support and auxiliary equipment.
Possess a Secret clearance and meet physical requirements associated with and/or pass any medical examination requirements related to performing daily assigned task.
Position requires travel.
Perform administrative duties related to aircraft maintenance such as preparing reports and correspondence, filing, and typing; performing database and system analysis; maintaining aircraft and engine logbooks, and associated records. Participate in emergency response drills on detachment as required. Emergency response and drills include flight deck/line and hangar firefighting, emergency reclamation and salvage drills, and aircraft movement drills.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned, requested, or directed by local directives.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:Work is performed in a shop environment that is moderately lighted, heated and ventilated, is exposed to disagreeable fumes and to cuts and bruises from using tools in close placed and hazards of moving vehicles such as forklifts and sweepers in shop area. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel;
and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and taste or smell. Frequently lifts items weighing 15-25 pounds and occasionally in excess of 45 pounds. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, extreme heat, and vibration.
The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud or unsafe conditions, questioning nonstandard operations or environmental factors that may involve unmitigated hazards, and providing feedback to supervisors and managers on all safety issues.

HIRING HOURLY Rate of Pay: $42.31 (Hourly rate set by CBA)
In accordance with the established Collective Bargaining Agreement, the hourly wage for this position is as follows:
Current: $42.31
On or around 6/1/2027: $43.58
This position includes a competitive benefits package, to include:
Paid vacation. Annual allotment in the form of a biweekly accrual as follows: 80 hours for 0-5 years of service, 120 hours for 5-10 years of service, 160 hours for 10+ years of service.
