Position Overview
The Ship’s Systems Analyst (Non-Nuclear) provides senior-level technical and analytical support to Commander, Naval Air Forces (CNAF) in support of aircraft carrier readiness, maintenance, and operational availability. This role focuses on non-nuclear shipboard systems and supports CNAF’s mission to deliver combat-ready, fully mission capable aircraft carriers across all phases of the Optimized Fleet Response Plan (OFRP).
The analyst supports the CVN Readiness Operations Center (ROC) by collecting, analyzing, integrating, and presenting system readiness data to enable informed, data-driven decisions related to maintenance execution, modernization planning, logistics support, and overall ship readiness.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe Ship’s Systems Analyst (Non-Nuclear) performs duties including, but not limited to, the following:
Readiness & Operations AnalysisAnalyze and track readiness metrics across Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) systems, auxiliary systems, combat systems (non-nuclear), logistics, and habitability/livability.
Support CNAF CVN ROC readiness assessments by integrating data related to personnel, equipment, training, supply, and maintenance status.
Assist with Carrier Readiness Calls (CRC) by providing accurate, consolidated readiness data and analysis to identify gaps, risks, and mitigation strategies.
Support readiness reporting aligned to mission-essential tasks, measures of effectiveness (MOE), and measures of performance (MOP).
Provide analytical and technical support for maintenance planning, repair execution, and modernization activities for CVNs.
Assist with development and review of Ship Change Documents (SCDs), alteration packages, availability work packages (AWPs), and lifecycle maintenance plans (LCMPs).
Support modernization planning and execution by tracking installation status, completion metrics, and lessons learned.
Assist Integrated Project Teams (IPTs) and availability planning teams during depot, intermediate, and organizational-level maintenance periods.
Support ship systems configuration management by validating installed equipment against logistics and configuration databases.
Analyze system performance trends, maintenance history, casualty reports (CASREPs), and failure data to identify readiness degraders.
Support configuration data management (CDM) efforts, including database reconciliation and accuracy improvements.
Analyze logistics readiness data including supply support, provisioning status, material availability, and maintenance documentation.
Support Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) assessments, ship checks, and logistics training efforts.
Assist in validating technical documentation, maintenance procedures, and logistics products supporting non-nuclear shipboard systems.
Utilize data analysis and predictive techniques to identify potential system issues and recommend proactive maintenance actions.
Develop reports, briefings, dashboards, and data products to support CNAF leadership decision-making.
Support knowledge management efforts, including SharePoint document control and readiness data repositories.
Minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience in the operation, maintenance, repair, and testing of U.S. Navy shipboard systems, excluding nuclear propulsion systems.
At least ten (10) years of direct experience supporting systems onboard U.S. Navy aircraft carriers, including mechanical, electrical, auxiliary, and applicable combat systems.
Strong working knowledge of aircraft carrier HM&E systems, auxiliary systems, logistics processes, and maintenance management programs.
Experience supporting readiness reporting, maintenance planning, modernization activities, and configuration management.
Familiarity with Navy maintenance and logistics systems, databases, and readiness reporting processes.
Ability to work onboard aircraft carriers and at government facilities as required.
Ability to analyze complex technical data and communicate findings clearly to senior leadership.
Must comply with all contract restrictions regarding nuclear systems and radiological areas.
This position does not perform nuclear propulsion analysis and will not handle radioactive materials or operate in posted radiation areas.
All work is performed in accordance with CNAF policies, OPNAV instructions, and task order-specific requirements.
