Aircraft Survival Flight Equipment Technician II (CFT B022 VA)
Strategic Technology Institute, Inc. located in Rockville, MD, is an aviation, logistics, and technology services company with a twenty‑year history of sustained performance. STi is a private engineering contractor founded in 1985 and is looking to fill positions for a long‑term contract with the Department of Defense. The contractor supports and maintains assigned aircraft and government‑furnished equipment in accordance with maintenance manuals and directives, providing scheduled and unscheduled services with a goal of 100% on‑time departures for scheduled missions at Naval Station Norfolk, Virginia.
Responsibilities- Disassemble, repair, test, troubleshoot, examine, fit, modify, maintain, install, and determine serviceability of aircraft survival and flight equipment such as helmets, torso harness assemblies, preservatives, parachutes, life rafts, chemical and biological protective devices, survival kits, oxygen masks, and anti‑G suits.
- Perform operational and circuit checks of emergency signaling and communication devices such as survival radios and beacons.
- Apply knowledge of mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance procedures, pyrotechnic and explosive devices, and aircraft egress systems.
- Maintain familiarity with aircraft assigned to the unit, demonstrate and explain proper usage and operation of the equipment.
Length of effort: 4 years
Hours of Operation- Day Shift – Mon / Fri – 06:30‑15:00
- Night Shift – Mon / Fri – 14:00‑22:30
Type: Organizational (O), Intermediate (I), and/or Depot (D)–Level maintenance.
Job Requirements- Secret Clearance required.
- Knowledge of ALSS, AMMRL, and Corrosion Control.
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aircraft and personal ALSS assigned to VRM‑40.
- Maintain ordnance certification for Survival Vest (CMU‑33/CMU‑37/CMU‑38) due to MK‑124 MOD 1 Marine Smoke and Illumination Signal; comply with Explosives Handling Personnel Qualification and Certification program.
