Full time/permanent - 37 hours per week (Mon – Thurs: 8hrs, Fri: 5 hrs – finish early).
As an NPI Project Engineer at Mirus Aircraft Seating, you’ll support the planning, execution, and delivery of new and ongoing programmes, ensuring the supply chain is ready to support innovation from prototype through to full production.
- Source and select suppliers, negotiate prices, and place purchase orders
- Maintain effective supplier relationships to ensure on-time delivery of materials
- Conduct supplier performance evaluations and drive improvements
- Contribute to cost-saving initiatives through effective sourcing strategies
- Maintain accurate records of procurement activities and inventory
- Work closely with engineering and production teams
- Develop lean purchasing processes to enable optimum delivery and inventory reduction
- Manage handover of NPI projects to be production capable and ready
The successful candidate will be proactive, highly organized, and capable of working across multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for purchasing activities across multiple programmes, managing costs and sourcing risk to ensure programmes are delivered on time, to budget, and with a sustainable high-quality supplier base. You will manage material procurement information (MPI) with precision and efficiency, ensuring supplier performance aligns with programme requirements.
Inthe role of New Product Introduction Project Engineer
- Manage procurement for NPI projects, ensuring supplier readiness from pre-production to delivery in line with programme schedules
- Plan and execute procurement activities, defining goals, work plans, and milestones
- Ensure manufacturability, cost targets, and quality standards are met; support “Design to Cost” initiatives with suppliers and Engineering
- Source, develop, and manage suppliers capable of meeting aerospace quality, delivery, and cost requirements
- Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, and supply agreements to secure value while protecting business interests
- Act as liaison across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain for seamless communication and execution
- Maintain accurate ERP data (BOMs, lead times, costings) and create programme tracking tools, KPIs, and gateway review presentations
- Identify, monitor, and report procurement and supply chain risks and opportunities
- Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes
We’re looking for someone with proven experience in programmes/purchasing buying, a proactive approach to solving challenges, exceptional customer service, and excellent attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in engineering or manufacturing environments
- Proven experience in NPI or new product development purchasing
- Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills
- Ability to read complex engineering drawings
- Strong understanding of production and manufacturing processes
- Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering and production teams
- Attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Proactive and problem-solving approach to procurement challenges
- Knowledge of supplier development, sourcing strategies, and cost management
- Proficient in ERP/MRP systems (Business Central experience advantageous)
- Ability to generate data-driven reports and provide clear updates to colleagues and senior stakeholders
- Ability to create, maintain and analyse complex spreadsheets and trackers
- Experience in regulated engineering environments such as aerospace or automotive
- Results-driven, persuasive, and able to challenge stakeholders while maintaining professionalism
- Understanding of BOMs and manufacturing processes
- Familiarity with AS9100 standards or APQP, PPAP

- Excellent organisational and time-management skills; able to manage multiple tasks concurrently
- Ability to foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders across engineering and project teams
