Position: SUPERVISORY GENERAL ENGINEER with Security Clearance
Duties
* You will serve as the DIVISION DIRECTOR, command expert and authority for MSC's MAINTENANCE ENGINEERING PLANNING PROGRAM.
* You will support technical policy, standards, requirements, certifications, and processes for cross-platform life cycle maintenance and modernization efforts.
* You will support the development of core technical documentation which includes Technical Foundation Papers, Class Maintenance Plans (CMP), Baseline Availability Work Packages (BAWP), Corrosion Plans and Ship Sheets.
* You will serve as the SME and provide input directly to OPNAV N4 and N8 for the technical requirements of MSC vessels to maintain operational availability and meet expected service life.
* You will serve as principle liaison with Maintenance Planning Activities (SURFMEPP, SUBMEPP, and CPA) for procedural and technical alignment.
* You will provide the full range of Maintenance Engineering Planning Program and administrative management oversight of Division personnel.
* You will evaluate and adapt systems engineering and operations advances, new engineering techniques, and improved and economical methods for ship repair, modification, alteration, and construction.
* You will conduct review of life cycle assessments for data driven recommendations for changes in vessel or industrial maintenance and repair requirements. Requirements Conditions of employment

* Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
* Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
* This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
* Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR .
* This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
* Experience demonstrating utilization of advanced principles and practices of naval architecture, marine engineering, electrical engineering and maintenance management as applied to ship design, life cycle management, maintenance, and engineering management of a diverse fleet of ships with unique mission requirements that enables the incumbent to serve as an expert in ship design, operation, maintenance, engineering, and automation.
* Experience utilizing qualitative and quantitative techniques for analyzing and measuring the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of assigned Maintenance Engineering Planning Program programs.
