Systems Application & Technologies, Inc. (SA-TECH) is a progressive and well-established Department of Defense contractor specializing in range operations and maintenance, weapons testing, facilities management, aerial, ground and seaborne targets O&M, technical, logistics and engineering support, systems integration, electronics and communications maintenance services, and a growing cybersecurity business. SA-TECH supports a dozen active test and training ranges for the Army, Air Force, and Navy and is currently hiring a Marine Electronics Technician to support a U.S. Navy Directorate focused on experimental watercraft.
Responsibilities- Diagnose and troubleshoot electronics on naval boats and test craft, evaluating systems performance under operating conditions.
- Install, service, and repair marine electronics, communications, navigation, and electrical systems.
- Repair, troubleshoot, modify, and install various marine electronic equipment such as radar, radio, television, telecommunication, sonar, navigational aids, computers, industrial and medical instruments, and robotic devices.
- Apply electronics principles to determine malfunctions and restore equipment operation; evaluate performance and reliability of prototypes or production models and recommend circuit or installation changes to simplify maintenance.
- Perform electrical work on marine craft.
- May work first or second shift (0700‑1530 or 0830‑1700).
- Work performed inside and outside enclosed buildings.
- Requires sitting, standing, walking, light lifting and reaching.
- May work outside normal hours and on temporary underway periods on small craft (20‑100 feet).
- May require climbing, lifting, or standing for extended periods to support mission.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- U.S. Navy or Coast Guard electronics training highly desirable.
- ABYC Marine Electrical Certification and/or Advanced Marine Electrical Certification highly desired.
- Minimum 6 years of direct military and/or maritime electronics, electrical, or C4I systems repair experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Organized, able to multi‑task, and possess strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and read/write/interpret technical directives and electronic schematics.
- Current driver’s license and ability to be insured through the company’s vehicle insurance policy while driving work–government vehicles.
- U.S. citizenship required and must obtain a DoD Security Secret Clearance prior to start date and maintain it throughout employment.
- All candidates will undergo background screening including SSN, driver record, and criminal background investigation.
