Position SummaryThe Engineer or Senior Engineer (Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing) is a PE-level role responsible for delivering coordinated, high-quality MEP designs from concept through construction. Depending on experience, the position may focus on project execution or serve as a senior technical lead overseeing design quality and mentoring staff. This role is client-facing and plays a key part in ensuring documents perform in the field.
Minimum Qualifications- BS in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering discipline.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- 5+ years of MEP consulting engineering experience.
- Experience producing and reviewing construction documents.
- 8+ years of experience leading projects or acting as technical lead.
- Strong specification writing and QA/QC background.
- Experience with institutional or complex building projects.
- Proficiency with Revit and multi-discipline coordination.
- Perform and lead MEP system design, including calculations, layouts, and equipment selection.
- Develop and review construction documents, ensuring clarity, coordination, and completeness.
- Prepare, edit, and review technical specifications and bid documents.
- Conduct drawing and plan-spec QA/QC appropriate to experience level.
- Coordinate engineering work with internal teams, architects, and consultants.
- Communicate with clients, contractors, and AHJs throughout design and construction.
- Participate in bidding and construction administration, including submittals, RFIs, and site observations.
- Investigate and document existing conditions and construction progress as required.
- Supervise and mentor junior engineers and designers as appropriate.
- Support proposals, reports, and studies when needed.
- Perform additional duties consistent with role level and experience.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
