Job DescriptionDuties
- You will provide engineering and technical support for Naval Installations who are constructing or modifying facilities.
- You will provide expert management advice to the command and provides guidance to installations/operating units, addresses conflicts, and is sought out by others for technical and advice and assistance.
- You will develop Navy-wide policy relative to area of expertise, provides planning assistance in design standards to Naval installations for future large MILCON, BRACON, or Congressional mandated projects
- You will collaborate with others on all phases of planning, designing, and constructing a project.
- You will investigate and analyze when directed by NOSSA Command, accidents, equipment malfunctions, and program deficiencies to determine circumstances and causes.
- You will serve as a technical consultant in the formulation and implementation of conventional explosives, safety criteria and policies ashore.
- You will review Naval installation deviation initial or renewal requests for Naval installations to ensure compliance with the policies and procedures for deviations as defined in OPNAVINST 8020.14 and NAVSEA OP5, as directed by N4L.

- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition
Functional Area
and category assigned to the position is required within established category time frames. - This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to next lower grade level/pay band NH-02 (GS-11) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional engineer providing guidance and identifying hazardous conditions to ensure the safe handling and storage of munitions, and explosives manufacturing process.
