Job DescriptionNATO HQ Supreme Allied Command Transformation (NATO SACT) seeks contract support for the Vendor-Augmented Next-Gen Guidance and Responsive Development (VANGARD) program. The Emerging Technology Integration Specialist will provide expert-level analysis of Emerging and Disruptive Technology (E&DT) integration across multiple operational domains and NATO capability portfolios. Key mission areas include wargaming, modelling and simulation, capability planning, programming, experimentation, and acceptance testing.
Qualifications- Master's degree in a relevant technical discipline.
- 10-15 years of experience in technology development, systems engineering, or operational analysis.
- Minimum of 5 technical publications or conference presentations on emerging defense technologies.
- Professional certifications in relevant areas such as AI/ML, systems engineering, or cybersecurity.
- Deep technical expertise in at least 2 of the 8 E&DT focus areas with working knowledge of 3+ additional areas:
Artificial Intelligence, robotic and autonomous systems, quantum technologies, novel materials and advanced manufacturing, hypersonic technologies, energy and propulsion technologies, biotechnology and human enhancement, next generation networks. - Systems engineering expertise including requirements analysis, functional decomposition, and verification/validation methodologies.
- Experience with NATO architecture frameworks (NAF) and technical standards (STANAGs).
- Understanding of experimentation methodologies such as Design of Experiments (DOE), test and evaluation, and Operational Test & Evaluation (OT&E).
- Support exploration, understanding, and assessment of E&DT focus areas to enhance cooperation, planning, and information sharing with NATO Allies, Partners, and non-NATO actors.
- Produce research papers exploring topics in depth, using information from books, articles, interviews, and online sources.
- Develop operating concepts for employing specified military capabilities to achieve stated objectives.
- Produce products supporting the planning, design, execution, and analysis of technical trials, culminating in formal reports with evidence-based findings.
- Conduct strategic-level analytical studies researching and analyzing NATO’s internal and external environments to inform long-term strategy and decision making.
