Summary:

The Norfolk Tides are seeking qualified and motivated applicants to support the field operations department at Harbor Park on game days. This part-time position plays a key role in maintaining the field from batting practice through postgame clean up. The ideal candidate has a basic knowledge of baseball, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn what it takes to operate a professional baseball field.

Key Duties:

• Assist field operations department with pregame preparation including but not limited to batting practice breakdown, dragging, raking, and cleaning bases.
• Participate in tarp pulls and removals when necessary.
• Complete infield drags and maintenance during games.
• Help with postgame clean up.
• Work with basic hand tools including shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows, edgers, and backpack blowers.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and special events as needed.
• Available to work the majority of the 75 home games.
• Ability to lift 50lbs and work around equipment associated with field maintenance.
• Ability to work in adverse weather conditions including heat and rain.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check.
