Our Trainee Programmes enable you to gain business skills from on-the-job learning (the “practical forward-thinking” part) and complete more formal training, studying towards your chosen professional qualification (the “expertise” part).
Duties include, but are not limited to:- Assist in the preparation of accounts and tax returns sole traders, partnerships and companies;
- Assist with the preparation of VAT returns;
- Learn and use various internal accounting software packages and support clients’ accounting systems;
- Liaise with HMRC and other professionals regarding client queries and affairs;
- Support with and complete other compliance services such as the preparation of P11ds;
- Provide support to managers and portfolio holders;
- Gain experience in the different aspects of accounts and tax, with a variety of clients and develop an understanding of the different services offered by the firm;
- Learn about and adhere to professional standards and ethical procedures;
- Ensure timely completion of tasks while managing the commercial impact on productivity, recoverability, fee income, and client service;
- Complete a professional qualification (AAT, and/or ACCA/ACA);
- Demonstrate and contribute to the Vision and Values of M+A Partners; and
- Any other tasks required, including various administrative duties such as dealing with the reception desk as clients enter the office.
- Enthusiastic with a willingness to learn;
- Motivated and ambitious;
- Strong time management abilities;
- Proactive and able to work as part of a team; and
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Have at least 3 A*-C A Level grade pass results, or equivalent (Maths-based subject is advantageous, but not a requirement); and
- Have at least 5 GCSE grades 9 – 4 or A*
- C. Have a 4 / C grade or above for English and Maths at GCSE.
- Graduate applicants must meet all of the above criteria, plus at least a 2:2 degree or predicted degree (Finance-based degree is advantageous, but not a requirement).
