Job DescriptionDuties
- You will perform or advise on work in any of the phases or systems of budget administration.
- You will present and defend budget estimates before authorities.
- You will analyze and recommend the costs and benefits of alternative methods of financial management of organization's programs and administrative operations.
- You will implement legal and regulatory controls over approved budgets as well as implement internal controls and provide advice on effective and efficient methods for the acquisition and use of funds.
- You will provide input, analyze and validates HQ requirements during budget formulation.
- You will oversee the Defense Travel System and the Government Travel Charge Card programs for the NCTAMS LANT Area Of Responsability (AOR).

- This is a Financial Management Level 3 certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR .
Qualifications Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled.
Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by:
- Experience formulating budgets and estimates to support plans, programs, and activities.
- Experience reviewing and evaluating budget requests, controlling and reporting on obligations and expenditures.
- Experience developing performance standards and evaluating employee performance.
- Experience developing, determining, and interpreting budgetary policies and practices.
