Supervisory General Engineer Security Clearance

Responsibilities

• You will provide guidance and technical oversight related to sustainment for all Auxiliary Systems and their components.
• You will apply knowledge of theories, concepts and management practices of Auxiliary Systems engineering disciplines and experience applying this knowledge in multiple project areas across a diverse workforce of government and contractor personnel.
• You will manage and coordinate engineering development programs and projects involving continuous system monitoring, evaluation, modification, and analysis of pertinent factors affecting system performance.
• You will assign work to subordinates based on priorities, difficulty of assignments, and the capabilities of employees, and ensure subordinates have the capabilities and resources to accomplish their tasks.
• You will implement agency policies, guidance, standards, metrics and procedures for effective contract administration of Defense acquisition through the subordinate chain of command.

• Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

• You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
• You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
• You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
• Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR .
• A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized.

Qualifications In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

• Experience with Auxiliary Systems demonstrating proficiency in the areas of Fleet Technical Assistance, Assessments and Inspections, Repair Recommendations, Repair Oversight and Logistics Support.
• Experience fostering internal and external change to meet command/department/ division/branch goals and maintain a mission vision consistent with a continuously changing environment.
• Experience creating an inclusive workplace that fosters equal employment, developing and mentoring, instilling cooperation, teamwork and resolves conflicts to inspire people to meet the organization's vision, mission and goals.
• Experience and broad technical knowledge of naval shipboard systems and components through experience in ship repair, operation, or troubleshooting.
